Purpose:
The Northern Chautauqua Environmental Fund was established to increase the community’s knowledge of environmental issues in our community, particularly those related to Lake Erie and its watershed.
Who is eligible to receive a grant from the Northern Chautauqua Environmental Fund?
Environmental organizations that are tax exempt under section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code are eligible to apply, as well as educational institutions and other public agencies.
What types of projects are funded?
A broad range of projects have received funding in previous years, including: hands-on educational experiences, student research, lectures, workshops, tree planting, and equipment expenses
Proposals which focus on Lake Erie or its watershed will receive high priority.
Grants are not awarded for lobbying or political purposes.
What size grants will be awarded?
In most instances, grants will be no greater than $500.
When can an organization apply?
