About Us
The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation annually awards $1.5 million through competitive grantmaking across the region.
The Community Foundation hosts several grant opportunities, an overview of each can be found below.
Nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations located in or serving Southern Chautauqua County, municipalities, and school districts (for broad public benefit) and faith-based organizations are eligible to apply. Organizations are eligible to apply to more than one application for different projects throughout the year.
All grant applications are reviewed by community volunteers and the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors.
General
- Type: Emerging Needs and One-Time Costs
- Due: Bi-monthly; last Wednesday of even months
- Range: $1,000- $4,000
*Faith-based Organizations: may apply for funding through this opportunity.
Community Impact
- Type: Programming and Capital Improvement Projects
- Due: March 1, August 1
- Range: $4,000- $20,000
Strategic Project
- Type: Large-Scale Programming and Capital Projects
- Due: Pre-applications due Dec 1 (Full applications by invitation)
- Range: Over $20,000
Geographic Funds
- Type: Emerging Needs and One-Time Costs
- Eligibility: Organizations located in or serving the geographic areas of Falconer Region (Falconer, Kennedy, Ellington) or Randolph.
- Due: March 1
- Range: $1,000- $4,000
Eligibility: Nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations, municipalities, school districts (for broad public purposes) and faith-based organizations.
Geographic Area: Organizations located in or serving Southern Chautauqua County.
2022 Grantmaking: $2 Million awarded/ 118 grant recipients/ 40 community volunteers
